Omega People

For companies with 5 to 500 employees

HR software for small business, priced per company

Omega People is HR software for small and medium-sized companies in the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland. It keeps employee records, leave, attendance, rotas, documents, expenses and hiring in one place, with your country’s rules already set up. You pay one price per company, in bands by headcount, with every module included. It prepares the month for payroll; it does not run payroll.

What you need

What a company of 5 to 500 people actually needs from HR software

Not a platform to configure for six months. A small company needs four things to stop going wrong: who is off and who is in, how many hours were worked, where each person’s documents are, and a clean hand-over to payroll at the end of the month.

It also needs someone other than the owner to be able to approve things. In Omega People every request — leave, a clock-in correction, an expense, a shift change, a new hire — waits in one To do queue, and managers can be limited to their own team, department or site.

Employees look after themselves from the browser on their phone: they are invited by email, or use a personal link with no account, and request leave, clock in, see their shifts and open their documents and payslips.

What’s included

Every module, in every price band

Employee records

Contracts, org chart, departments, sites, cost centres and custom fields, imported from CSV or .xlsx.

Requests, approvals, balances, accrual, carry-over and public holidays by region.

Time and attendance

Clock in from the browser or a tablet kiosk; timesheets, corrections, overtime and time off in lieu.

Rotas

Shift templates, drafts and publishing, swaps, availability and working-time warnings.

Hiring and onboarding

Careers page, candidate pipeline, guided hiring, onboarding and offboarding checklists.

Documents and e-signature

Templates, bulk send, read confirmation, expiry tracking and a simple electronic signature with certificate.

Expenses and trips

Payroll preparation

A month-end file of hours, overtime, absences and reimbursements for your payroll software.

Performance and training

Review cycles, goals, engagement surveys with eNPS, a skills matrix and a training plan.

Compliance and safety

Statutory deadlines by country, mandatory training, PPE log, incident register and a speak-up channel.

Reports

Headcount, absence rate, turnover, estimated labour cost, a gender pay gap view, and CSV download.

Automations

Rules such as: when a probation period is ending, notify the manager; when a request waits over three days, send a reminder.

Pricing

One price per company, not per employee

Four bands by headcount. Hiring your 26th person moves you up a band; hiring your 12th changes nothing.

The country rules were last reviewed against official sources on 5 October 2026. They are a starting point, not legal advice: contracts, awards and collective agreements can differ, and you can change every value. The interface is in English, German and French, and each person picks their own language. Data is hosted in Germany, in the European Union, with daily backups.

Where it stops

What Omega People does not do

Better to know before the trial than after it.

  • It does not run payroll. No tax, social-security or net-pay calculation, no statutory payslips, no filings. It hands a file to your payroll software or accountant, and you can upload the payslips that come back.
  • Nothing to install. Everything runs in the browser, on a phone as well as a computer — and the Omega People app is being published on the App Store and Google Play.
  • No integrations catalogue and no public API. Payroll products are reached through export files; automations can call a webhook.
  • No single sign-on and no two-factor authentication. Access is by email and password, with roles, per-module permissions and an audit log.
  • Support by email, Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00 Central European Time, in English, German and French. No phone or chat line.

If one of these is a requirement rather than a preference, a larger platform will serve you better, and the comparison pages say which.

Questions

What people ask us about this

How much does HR software cost for a small business?

Omega People costs £35 a month for a company of up to 25 employees, £69 for up to 75, £119 for up to 200 and £179 for up to 500, excluding tax. The price is per company, not per employee, every module is included, and paying yearly gives you 2 months free. The first month is free with no credit card.

Does Omega People run payroll?

No. It does not calculate tax, social security or net pay, and it does not produce statutory payslips or filings. It prepares the month and exports a file with hours, overtime, absences, shift premiums and approved expenses, as a CSV or in a layout for your payroll software. Payslip PDFs produced there can be uploaded so each employee finds theirs.

Is there a minimum contract?

No. You can pay monthly or yearly and cancel at any time without notice or penalty, and there is a 30-day money-back guarantee from the first charge. If the subscription ends, the workspace becomes read-only and your data stays viewable and exportable for 30 days before it is deleted.

Can we move our employee records in from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Import a CSV or .xlsx file: the columns are recognised automatically, including names, job title, department, manager, contract type, start date and opening annual-leave balance. A dry run shows what will happen before anything is written, and the import can be undone.

Which countries does it support?

The United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland, each with its own leave types, public holidays by region, working-time limits, checklists and payroll file layouts. The rules were last reviewed on 5 October 2026; they are a starting point, not legal advice.
